About this market study
The purpose of this new handbook is to provide a snapshot
of where the mobile and wireless industry was in 2003 and
where it might be going in 2004, showing current cellular
subscriber levels in 50 key countries, growth in those markets
throughout 2003, and forecast growth in the years 2004-2008
inclusive. This data is supplemented with additional information
such as penetration levels, listings of network operators
and much more. We have also highlighted 3G network growth
as separately presented data, showing predicted "3G for
2G" replacement levels in key markets. For this handbook
we also interviewed all the major handset vendors and have
summarised 2003 shipments and some details of individual handsets
that have sold well in Q3 and Q4 of 2003.
